The Squamish 50, in collaboration with Athletics Canada, the Association of Canadian Ultramarathoners (ACU), and the Canadian Mountain Running Association (CMRA), is honoured to host the 2023 and 2024 Canadian Mountain & Trail Running Championship for 50km and 50 Miles.
The Squamish 50 attracts some of the world’s best runners as well as hundreds of participants from across Canada. The race is home to the 2023 Canadian Mountain & Trail Running Championships and in 2024 will serve as the selection trials for the 2025 World Mountain & Trail Running Championships.
The Squamish 50 races are TOUGH, truly unforgettable trail running experiences. With our marquee 50 mile race boasting over 90% singletrack and more than 11,000 ft of climbing and descent, topped off by stunning sweeping vistas across glaciated snow capped peaks that jut straight out of the Pacific Ocean, these courses are sure to take your breath away.
We’ve put together a variety of events that highlight the absolute best running terrain in Western Canada. Come discover what makes Squamish such a highly sought-after adventure destination.
The District of Squamish has grown a lot in the last decade and future construction plans will necessitate a handful of changes, so after ten years on the current courses, we are making some minor changes for 2024.
We acknowledge that the Squamish 50 race takes place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) peoples. We are grateful to have the opportunity to enjoy, recreate, and share in this beautiful territory.
